Nantou County is the second largest county of Taiwan. It is also the only landlocked county in Taiwan. Its name derives from the Hoanya Taiwanese aboriginal word Ramtau. Nantou County is officially administered as a county of Taiwan Province.
Known as a “Foggy Eden” far away from the city area in the mountains, Qingjing is great for those who enjoy fresh air, lush forests, acres of flowers along the plains and hillsides, and beautiful starry nights.
Qingjing is a favourite spot to interact with farm animals such as cows and sheep. Some animals that can be found on the farm include Corriedale lamb, Hereford cow, Aberdeen Angus cow, Barbado Sheep, Arab Horse, and ponies. A horse riding show and sheep-shearing show are available for visitors to enjoy as part of farm entry ticket. Pony rides are available during the day at the Qingjing Green Green Grasslands.
Throughout the day, the sun interacting with mist and fog within, around, and over the mountaintops produces some amazing weather effects. At dawn, the sun appears to rise from a sea of clouds. In the afternoon, fog and mist can sometimes roll over the mountains to cover the hillside. At dusk, pink clouds can be produced overhead, creating an amazing sunset panorama for visitors to enjoy.
Some fruits grown on the farm include kiwi, pears, plums, and peaches.
A day pass ticket is required for entry to the farm areas at Guanshan Pasture and Green Green Grasslands. Ticket prices are listed below.
The best food can be found in the hawker market area between the Green Green Grasslands (north) and Guanshan Pasture(south) sections of the park. Other restaurants, such as authentic southwest-Chinese Yunnan-style cuisine, can be found along Trail #4.
The landscape and beauty of Qingjing Farm changes with each season.
We have traveled around Cingjing countless times and stayed in many of the Taipei Homestay or more commonly known as Taipei Minsu. Below are some of the Minsu we highly recommend you try a night stay or more. We did the hard work, you just need to enjoy the fruits.
Be it Sunrise or Sunset, this Villa offers some of the best view, be sure to set your alarm. He loves the interior design! Great rooms, loved the wooden flooring and rooftop windows. Spacious enough for the sofa which was great for chilling. Balcony was a great addition. Water dispensers are placed in the room, very convenient. Water shower was hot throughout, consistent. It’s all wood and the room is huge and he will stay here again if he visits Cingjing in the future.
If you are looking an out-back cottage feel, this is it. Totally cottage style designed and tatami mixed. The room is mainly built up using maple woods and flooring was speck and clean when we stepped in. It doesn’t look new but at least cleanliness was well assured.
Rustic with great mother nature surrounding this Minsu, I arrived during dinner time and was greeted by this homely view, warmth and lustrous filled me up right away. Checked in and found that the staffs and owners were more than friendly. They helped me with my stash and packs into my room, they do not have the best room design but they certainly have the best view award! They even got a Japanese style tub in my shower.
One of the highly recommended Cingjing Minsu, best service, top cleanliness and one of the best scenery. We arrived via car and passed through a somehow Japan alike scenery. Peach Blossom trees lined up both sides of the road, beautifully designed rustic signboard which was so hard to miss. Warm greeting from the host made us feel that we were in for a treat.
The breakfast is good and handmade bread is great but space of restaurant is not enough to accommodate all the guests at the same time. It would be better to ask the owner when is the best time to have breakfast when checking in. The best breakfast I had in the whole of Taiwan. Their homemade bread and soya drink are my favourite. It was wonderful to wake up each morning to see the mountains.
At last, we found a Cingjing Minsu as similar as those kid friendly Minsu in Yilan. We came to try out this Cingjing home stay somewhere in 2019 and was astounded by the way the owners decorated them. It is absolutely kids friendly with comical theme and also hello kitty theme, coupled with slide that comes down from one floor to another. Yes, you did not read wrong. But this time round this sort of Minsu is in Cingjing, and not Yilan.
Simple, rustic and comfy describe this Cingjing Minsu. Cing Jing Homeland Resort Villa is well known for its simplicity with top service attitude. The view from this Minsu is breath taking as it is surrounded by lush green mountains and farms. At night, there is even star gazing session, if you or your kids wish to learn more, this is the place for you.
We found yet another kids friendly minsu in Cingjing. Chingjing Abin Minshuku is a rather new looking minsu set in cingjing, kid friendly, awesome design and enormous efforts put in renovation of this home stay. We highly recommend this home stay to anyone who intends to bring their kids to Taiwan Cingjing for a vacation. Room is very spacious and design is unique. Breakfast is good and provide some of children’s playground.
