Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is a modern metropolis with Japanese colonial lanes, busy shopping streets and contemporary buildings. The skyline is crowned by the 509m-tall, bamboo-shaped Taipei 101 skyscraper, with upscale shops at the bottom and a rapid elevator to an observatory near the top. Taipei is also known for its lively street-food scene and many night markets, including expansive Shilin market.
The capital city of the Republic of China (commonly referred to as Taiwan), Taipei City is widely regarded as the political, economic, and cultural center of Taiwan. Pronounced in Mandarin as Táiběi, the city is located in the northern part of the island in a basin between the Yangming Mountains and the Central Mountains. Consisting of 12 distinct districts, each with its own style and charm, Taipei is amazing modern city with an innumerable amount of historical attractions, numerous acclaimed night markets, shopping districts, as well as cultural amenities like modern coffee houses, museums, and fantastic nightlife.
With a population of about 2.6 million residents, its population is eclipsed by New Taipei City (which surrounds Taipei), however Taipei’s identity is closely linked with New Taipei as well as its other neighbor Keelung (基隆市) and are regarded as one large metropolitan area with a population in excess of 7 million.

Originn Space or Orig-Inn Space, nicely camouflaged itself in to the heart of Taipei along a much quieter street which blends in amazingly well. If you are an antique lover or even someone who prefers tranquility, this is the accommodation for you.
For Taipei main station, I highly recommend Taipei M Hotel. I was well received by a grand reception with super friendly staffs. Though rated only as a 3 stars hotel, the service standard surpassed the 5 stars ones. The reception was grand enough, with decent ceiling height. There were 5 lifts serving everyone to ensure speed in getting one to bring you to your room and back to the ground floor.
Departing from Jiufen Old Street, it takes about 10 minutes by bus to Gold Museum, 15 minutes’ drive to Ruifang Railway Station and 45 minutes’ drive to Yehliu Geopark. Guests can reach Taipei City and Taipei Songshan Airport from Long Men Ke Zhan in 50 minutes’ car journey.
It is most suitable for couple who are looking for somewhere quiet and romantic. Beautiful place done up, facilities – water dispenser, fridge, cups, all readily available. Host and family are friendly and there is even soundproofing for the door should other visitors make noises.
It is right next to a Metro and a small night market, Ningxia. So dining and shopping are a breeze. The owners are awesome couple with legendary cooking skills by the female owner, Lily. Very friendly people, especially the lady who cooks breakfast is lovely. We liked that the breakfast was different every day. The room was comfortable and the location was fine, close to metro and bus stops and within walking distance of some interesting areas like night markets and Dihua street.
