Singapore to Cingjing Taiwan | Cingjing Minsu stay
Singapore to Cingjing Taiwan | Cingjing Minsu stay
Most travelers are mainly and would love to explore the cheapest and easiest way to get to see mother nature. Cingjing is a very familiar name when we think about Taiwan, but most people tend to mistook Cingjing to be in Taichung province which is incorrect. Cingjing is seated in Nantou province but the nearest way to get there is through Taichung. Let me explain to you why later on.
Fly from Singapore to Taoyuan could cost $900+ if you don’t do your homework good enough but if you don’t mind spending extra for flight tickets, this is fine. By booking early and on correct date, you could actually have a pounding saving of $700! And if you are in pair, imagine saving $1400! Fly with budget air, Scoot or Air Asia, book 2 months in advance and trust me, you can find tickets that costs only $220, or even $190 at the best time!
Flight time to Taiwan usually takes 4 to 5 hours, that’s for sure. Unless you are on the wrong plane. Try to take the morning flight and reach there before noon. Once you reach Taoyuan Airport, don’t rush to the bus station right away. Exit from arrival hall and make a right turn and you will find a string of shops selling prepaid Sim card, you cannot miss them. They usually sell unlimited data and internet connection in number of days. Usually 3 days, 5 days or 7 days and they cost about $300NTD which is about $15SGD for 3 days. Only one user can use it though, you may want to get two SIM cards if you going in pair.
Now for the more boring yet exciting part. Travel again. Haha. Head to the bus counter at the arrival hall and buy the Kuo Kuang Bus ticket, it should cost around $130NTD per person and this will take you to Taipei main train station, travel time about one hour.
Next, take the High Speed Rail from Taipei HSR Station to Taichung HSR Station, it should cost $770NTD per pax but you could enjoy 20% if you book as early as 2 months before via Taiwan HSR website. Alight at Taichung train station.
When you reach Tai Chung HSR station, alight and head down to the ground level to get your bus ticket up to CingJing. Look for e-go Cingjing Tour Bus. While you’re on your way down at the ground level, you’ll be bugged by Taxi drivers wanting to drive you there. They’re pretty persistent and will try any method to get you to take their taxi. This is when you have to shrug them off and proceed directly to the bus ticket counter. Furthermore, the bus ticket package also includes the CingJing farm where you get to see lots of Sheep. The bus ticket will cost you 450 to 600 NTD per pax. The bus trip will take about 90 to 120 minutes to reach Cingjing bus station. This time, we are staying at Dreamtown Minsu, we called the minsu owners using the phone number they gave through email, or you could take a cab to your minsu and its not going to cost much.
Dreamtown Minsu is a much of a chalet style minsu and the owners are very friendly, we were given daily breakfast as complimentary. But I highly recommend you have your dinner for at least a night there, usually a steamboat would be great to kill off the chilling night. It can get as cold as 16 degree celcius during certain season, a steamboat would be so great. We paid about 250NTD for it, note that this is not a buffet style so if you want more which is usually needed, a top up of 100NTD would get you more meat. The glass made walls is awesome when it comes to night time, you could actually see the extra large moon if you are lucky and the mini milky way. Having dinner couldn’t be any better than this when you are served a beer with this view.
The room of this Minsu is very cosy, especially the the mini bathtub overlooking mother nature with mountainous scenery. I could soak here whole morning, with my phone put away and mind set blank into screen saver mode. Haha. The bed and room is clean and rather spacious when compared to my 3 room HDB. Waking up to such a breath taking view is second to none, it washed all my worries away every morning when I woke up here.
Oh, did I mention the owner here actually understand English? Overall, I would give a thumb up for Dreamtown Minsu for such a awesome experience. Would certainly come back to here again for their everything. Thanks. This Taiwan Minsu price from $132SGD onward from booking.com
This Minsu has excellent location to places of interest, not only this. This Minsu only holds 24 rooms and is almost fully booked till 2 months later.
TIPs: For booking Taiwan Minsu,Dreamtown Minsu, always book 3 months ahead of your trip to avoid last minute competition, especially when you plan to go during peak season!
